Summer Vacation is almost over

This summer has been extremely hot.
Although the heat will continue for a while, my children’s summer vacation ends at the end of this month.

In Japan, the school year begins in April, so August falls in the middle of the school year.
That’s why students are given a lot of homework during summer vacation.
Today, I checked with my daughter to see if she had finished hers. (and she hurriedly completed the remaining assignments!)

For families where both parents work, there is a service called gakudo (after-school care) provided by schools or local facilities.
Thanks to this system, children can still go there from morning even during the summer break.

As for me, during summer vacation, I have been mainly taking guiding jobs that finish early in the morning.
That way, I can return home before my husband leaves for work and spend most of the day with my children.

I had three private tours this months, but every day was so hot that I couldn’t stop sweating.
If you visit Japan in the summer, you can make things much easier on yourself by using underground shopping streets to escape the heat and taking frequent breaks to avoid heatstroke.
I hope that someday I can write a blog post about how to make the most of Japan’s underground streets during the hot season♪
