Please stay hydrated

Personally, I feel that “summers” in Japan have been getting hotter and hotter every year.
These days, I start sweating in the morning and feel like taking a shower again during the day.

Yesterday, one of my guests asked if they should bring anything to prevent heatstroke when visiting Kyoto, which is their next destination.
So I introduced a few items that many Japanese people use in summer.
A neck cooler, a portable fan, and salty tablets.

Heatstroke isn’t just a risk for the elderly or children. It can happen to anyone.
In fact, one of my ”mom friends” got sick from heatstroke last week. She was outside all day taking care of her kids and ended up forgetting to take care of herself.

So please remember to drink water before you feel thirsty, and if you start to feel even a little tired, prioritize taking a break over sightseeing.
Japanese summers are especially humid, so even if the temperature doesn’t seem that high, it can still feel much hotter than it actually is.

Please make sure to take good care of yourself and enjoy your trip in Japan!
